THE ANGOLITE, THE PRISON NEWS MAGAZINE

For all of you that may not know, Louisiana (Angola) State Penitentiary in Angola Louisiana has a magazine, The Angolite. The inmates write all the articles, edit them, take all the photographs, do all the interviews. Basically do everything put have it printed.

Those of you that haven’t heard of Angola, it’s a prison with an amazing story. I highly suggest reading the book, Cain’s Redemption, by Dennis Shere. I spent eight days there and it was truly life changing. One could not walk into the facility and not feel God’s presence working in the lives of the men there.

I love to receive my copy of, The Angolite. There’s writing from inmates, along with information on the prison system, past history of Angola, and news about those that have visited there.

If you’d like to receive a subscription to their magazine, you can either go onto their website at, http://www.angolarodeo.com/, and click on, Angolite. Or write to them at, The Angolite, c/o Cashier’s Office, Louisiana State Penitentiary, Angola, LA 70712.

It’s a great way to get connected with a prison, and to show your support for what they do.
